Monday Blues: Make wonderful choices

Sometimes we see so much positive messages in as that you are really touched. The brand in such a situation is really remembered. Choices are wonderful and it is a choice that determines you most of the time. Once in a while when faced with a seemingly tough question, make choices that make you better. Even if they might hurt you for a little while. Make choices that improve you, that help you excel. This Monday, make wonderful choices :)

Good job Titan.

Stay behind the curtain

Let the consumer or your client be in front of the camera. Move back and hide behind the curtain, especially when you are doing well. Come out and stand out in the open and defend yourself, or face the heat when you aren't doing well.

While BMW is doing a great job in creating the best cars and a superb consumer satisfaction and impressive ad campaigns, I loved it when it was subtle and the brand chose to showcase their best bet till now - Sachin Tendulkar. I love the ad for a simple reason that I couldn't skip it!

It is simple, clean and crisp and damn! Sachin looks comfortable in front of the camera and the journey and admiration seems mutual. Good job BMW. By moving behind the screen and leting your work talk, you are hitting the right notes and we love it.

Give someone a Christmas they deserve

This is arguably the best ad I have seen this year and how simple it is done! What are your plans this Christmas?

Sharing joy multiplies it.

Connecting with the young

Teenage psyche is confusing - both to children and their parents. Pocket money is never enough and usually under appreciated. Now this is a crazy time for both sections and if there is a solution then it meets both, would we appreciate it?

Communicating this can be done in any way but Lowe Lintas came up with a good ad and made this enjoyable. Most of the kids can relate to this easily but the best part is that the parents relate to this too.

The best communication is one that connects with the target audience easily and this is brilliant as it kills both the birds. I am adding this to the list of Best Ads 2014 for the simplicity and funny way of communication. What do you think?

It All Starts: Ra, ra, ra, ra, Rishi

Once in a while there comes a marketer who decides to think otherwise and make a brilliant ad and here is one such example. One of the best ads for 2014 till now and it comes from the house of Nestle for Nescafe. Bringing the stand up gig to address a communication problem and showing the human side of the solution and connecting conversations is brilliant. The ad is titled, 'It all starts' and is simply ruling the social media space.

A brilliant communication is one where the cause or communication problem takes the center-stage while the brand moves to the background. This is special as it takes the cake of communication strategies as it is simple and Rishi makes you fall in love with him. Though he has to joke his way past the rent collecting landlord who gives him time to pay in installments, Rishi, in the Nescafe ad, walks away with 10 lakh hits on youtube and many shares on Facebook, Twitter... Amazing strategy and I am floored.

Honda's new ad analyzed

How do you touch someone in such a way that they don't forget you?
It is tough. Isn't it?
How difficult is it for a brand to make you feel special? It is even more challenging and it is rare that a brand could achieve this is commendable.

Honda touched me with their special ad. Since they have moved out separate ways with Hero and wanted to build a brand on their own and yet connect with their customers and build the bridge. I am glad they did this as I own a Hero Honda bike, my first one, and I have a deep bonding with the bike. I loved the ad and consider this is one of the best ads this year.

The music is amazing, they could bring in all religions, cultures and give minimum space to the star and is really fun to watch. Wonderful it turned out to be. Here it is for you to see.

Let her be

As parents, siblings we tend to protect our women a bit too much. As a father I expect my little one to be safe but I also leaving her to learn things on her own. Like I don't rush to pick her up when she falls down and explain when she gets hurt and in a way letting her learn pretty much on her own and then make a wiser decision (or my version of wise).

One of the best ads I saw this year is by Verizon and here it is! It says inspire her mind not restrict. Can't agree more.

Ignore the call

I take it to the side sometimes when I am in my car and the phone rings and I have to answer it. Few ads can change it to a real experience. VW does the same. One of the good ads this year.

Open with a twist

Very rarely I am surprised by the ads that come out. Coke has one team that continues to amaze me with their creativity and charm. I like the way the team at Coke thinks outside the given arena of marketing and sales and moves on to branding. Here is one more example to see how you can overcome simple communications problem that many of us have gone through during campus initiations in college. Good job Coke.

Respect women

This video by Havells has made my day and I couldn't help but share here with you all. Vasuda Sharma is natural and shining bright in this video where Havells and Vasudha and the other two gentlemen showcase how talent is important and not the stereotype roles.

I am not a data point

Firefox comes up with a brilliant message in the form of an open letter and along with all the netizens I am loving it. The Web is our largest shared resource. Let's keep it free and open for us, and for the next generation.

Monday Blues: Start thinking positively

When did you start thinking you are not beautiful?

Restart and start believing in yourself.

You are more than the color of your skin, your height, or your weight or you facial features or your race.

You are what you choose to be, what you believe in, what you want to learn, contribute and change.

One more gem of a video from Dove.

Be grateful, be happy and be more beautiful

Sometimes I am thrown off by what brands could do to convey their message. I am very impressed with this one. I am very glad to have watched this and I am sure you would love it too.

Takeaways from the video are:

  1. Be happy
  2. Be grateful
  3. Be more beautiful
  4. Be less critical
  5. Forgive
  6. Cheer up!
Well done Dove!
