Monday Blues: Be happy

Be happy!
Always.
No matter what and who tells you otherwise.
Because you are alive.
Because there are amazing things around you happening every minute.
Be happy for God gave you another day and another chance.

Tiger & Kavita go stitching with Needle Doodle

From my Talk to Tiger initiative and Women Entrepreneur series...

She has a wide grin as she answers my questions and is very clear about what she wants - an Iced Eskimo. I had to bribe her with an early morning coffee to meet. It's 7.30 am we were sitting in Cafe Coffee Day and Kavita is full of energy. What was planned as a 30 minute interview went on for 3 hours. It did not stop at just understanding the business model and the spirit of needle doodle but we ended up walking out as good friends.

This week, in Talk to tiger we speak to the highly successful woman entrepreneur behind Needle Doodle - Kavita Jain.

How to turn your negatives to positives!

Stop bullying or I will write songs about you. Loved the Bailey McConnell's song and Simon's reaction.

Tiger & Small Bites

How soon you should see a dentist for your baby? I thought it was okay to see one just after my little one's first birthday. And we went to meet Dr. Premila Naidu of Small Bites.

Small bites is an exclusive Children's Dental clinic (small bites) by Dr. Premila in Indiranagar, Bangalore. As the little one relaxed in the toy filled tastefully decorated kids waiting room, we adjusted ourselves in miniature chairs and got chatting and here is the excerpt.

Train now

There are ads and then there are brilliant ads. Here is a masterpiece I found on twitter shared by Brilliant Ads. True it is a masterpiece and I am really impressed. Here are some takeaways from this success story.
  1. It is simple
  2. Calls for an action
  3. Combines a simpler physical action with a fun to do task
  4. Gives you the psychological push that consumer psyche craves for
  5. Gives you the choice and control

Monday Blues: 10 things you shouldn't do when you start a business

NIKKI BOWMAN came up with these wonderful things you shouldn't do if you are an entrepreneur. I am not a big fan of lists but here is an exception.

  1. Launch a business without market research.
  2. Start without a plan (but don’t spend years reworking it
  3. Take no for an answer
  4. Launch without a budget for marketing
  5. Begin by focusing on making lots of money
  6. Be indecisive
  7. Be inflexible
  8. Be cheapest on the market
  9. Believe starting your own business will give you free time
  10. Spend your early profits on prestige items

Water on Mars

Yep. There is. I am in the know how and have access to some classified information for quite sometime now and that makes me believe strongly that there is water on Mars and that this would not just be a good news to us humans but also a great chance to explore and move on to new worlds.

This announcement of the presence water or should I say the presence of an ocean on Enceladus, a moon, revolving Saturn just affirms that water and other life supporting elements can be existent all around the universe and we are in the process of discovering them.

When the Cassini spacecraft got its first closeup look at Saturn’s moon Enceladus after the probe’s arrival in 2004, it was rewarded with a jaw-dropping sight: giganticgeysers of ice particles and water vapor spewing hundreds of miles into space from the icy world’s southern hemisphere. These plumes are so prolific that they continuously resurface Enceladus’ sparkling white surface with a fresh coating of ice crystals—and still have enough left over to be the main source of ice particles that make up Saturn’s E-ring.

I sincerely hope Mars rover or our own Mangalyaan just affirms this and makes us proud. Fingers crossed. Waiting.

Monday Blues: Be true to yourself

I was not an admirer of Arnab Goswami till recently. I think I started to like his attitude these days. Here is a wonderful video shared by my prof and I am urging you to have a look at it and see how it is important to believe in yourself and follow your dreams.

Are you who you are?

Sometimes you need to rediscover yourself to see who you really are. Found this video online today and couldn't stop sharing it here. The joy of setting out in your life to discover your true passions, beliefs and probably change yourself and see who you really are is a journey very few intend to take.

Whenever life gives you a challenge, wake up and take it up and tread an unbeaten path, however small it can be. I am sure you will find it worth the effort.

Believe and you shall gain

'If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it in the beginning.'

- Mahatma Gandhi

Water management in Gujarat India

I am not a big fan of Modi or any other politician but this is incredible as it brought in inclusive development. Why can't we do this in all other states? Especially in the newly formed Andhra.

I also love the simple way of presenting data in this video. Comparing the data points to internationally known information that brings the awe factor (like the great wall of china, Indian Railways and so on) was a brilliant decision. Also the credibility factor is high when you have actual non-related people testify the results in a non-data sharing way.

Sure you can use some of the pointers here.

Talk to Tiger

I have had several people tell me my blog is good and it has more of personal blogging features and the marketing content is a bit low. I was in two minds if I should open a personal blog and have content there to address this and after a lot of thought, here it is: Talk to Tiger.

Talk to Tiger will have conversations with different people and an attempt to reduce your stress and problems through candid conversations.

Here is the launch post where we feature my friend Vidya Lakshmi.

Believe in yourself

On a day facebook picks up whatsapp for $16 billion, I found this online and couldn't help sharing!

4 years ago, Whatsapp founder Brian Acton was rejected in interviews by both facebook and Twitter, after he lost his job at Yahoo. Today, Facebook paid $19 billion to get his product... MORAL : Don't let rejection and defeats get you down. Your time is coming soon. Your victory is closer than you think... Keep Believing !!

Monday Blues: Ignore the haters

There will be haters. Period.

You got to live with that. In whatever you do, whatever you want to do. Never look at them. Ignore them and move on.

Stop worrying about what these haters would say/think about you and your work. Believe in yourself and step forward.
When you succeed, these haters will still be there. So don't even look at them. I am all for accepting positive and constructive criticism but cannot sympathize with haters.

For the largely successful Lorde Royals song there are almost a lakh of haters :) So you can expect more. So ignore and move on.

Monday Blues: It is okay to fail

What if I fail?

So what? No one is actually bothered if you fail. Yes, there might be a few guffaws and some smart jokes about how you failed and stuff but why are you bothered?

The ability to convince your mind to get up from the lazy chair and attempt something that made you explore an uncharted territory is commendable. You should be proud of yourself and keep going at it till you win.

It is okay to fail but not okay to lay back. Get up and take charge. Make sure your next attempt is one step closer to success. Measure your steps and see how you can achieve this and move ahead.

Monday blues: Being thankful

This monday, let us be thankful! Here is why!

  • Being thankful is one of the ways to keep your spirits up.
  • Being thankful helps you acknowledge what you have, what you earned, what you are blessed with and should value.
  • Being thankful aids in being happy.
  • Being thankful helps you to appreciate what you don't normally see.
  • Being thankful helps you relax.
  • Being thankful is being cheerful.
  • Being thankful helps you mend relationships.
  • Being thankful is good.
  • Be thankful today.

Monday Blues: Start thinking positively

When did you start thinking you are not beautiful?

Restart and start believing in yourself.

You are more than the color of your skin, your height, or your weight or you facial features or your race.

You are what you choose to be, what you believe in, what you want to learn, contribute and change.

One more gem of a video from Dove.
