Alia Bhat is a genius

When you are up for ridicule, laugh at yourself and be sportive. Alia won many hearts with this and I think this is bloody brilliant.

'Feames' astrologer

Every day this board appears in front of a shop in Tavarekere, Bangalore. Couldn't stop myself from clicking. This area is one of the very good localities which translates to high rent in terms of real estate space and if he continues to put up shop here every day, he must have good paying clients. Now the astrologer is supposed to be famous and if he is not, I hope this would get him there.

[I totally respect him and his work]

So?

Bravery is not an asset of a few. Many times in life you face with this question whether to be brave or to just let it go. Things like responsibilities, duties hold you down. I don't mean you need to show your bravery but wouldn't you love it?

Now coming to this pic, loved it. I stole it from a friend's Orkut profile. Isn't it awesome? Now who all wants to be the penguin? Got to be a good runner though.

As a matter of fact

Harsha sent me this... I do not know how far this is true but it has a lesson or two.

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly that made the world community smile.

A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named. When he struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.' He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.'

The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.'

The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech. 'And they say Kashmir belongs to them

Amen!

You must have read this already but worth a reread.

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he continued walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes. Turning to look, he saw a 7 foot grizzly charging towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. Looking over his shoulder he saw that the bear was closing in on him. His heart was pumping frantically and he tried to run even faster.

He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear raising his paw to take a swipe at him. At that instant the atheist cried out: "Oh my God..."

Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent.

It was then that a bright light shone down upon the man and a voice came out of the sky saying: "You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others I don't exist, and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps, could you make the bear a Christian?"

"Very well," said the voice. The light went out. And the sounds of the forest resumed.

Then the bear lowered his paw, bowed his head and spoke: "Lord, bless this food which I am about to receive and for which I am truly thankful. Amen."

What?

Bijay sent me this...

"I do not know where family doctors acquired illegibly perplexing
handwriting nevertheless, extraordinary pharmaceutical intellectuality
counterbalancing indecipherability, transcendentalizes intercommunications
incomprehensibleness"

This is a sentence where the nth word is N letters long i.e. 3rd word is 3 letters long, 8th word is 8 letters long and so on. English is surely a wonderful language. And do all the doctors have illegible handwriting? Why is it so?

Lessons from IPL!

Cricket has reached exciting levels with IPL. As expected some nice things are listed and should be introduced in academics, exams to be precise. Here are a few suggestions:
  • Reduce exam duration to 1 hr and marks to 50
  • Introduce strategic break after 30 minutes(you know what to do)
  • Give free hit, that is a chance for students to frame their own questions and write answers
  • 1st 15 minutes power play, that is no invigilator in the exam hall( How about students deciding timings of power play?)
  • Introduce fair play awards
  • If any wrong question is asked you can give your own answer for the next question(Free hit)
  • Cheer girls to cheer for every correct answer written!
Can you add some more?

It happens

While I was paying for my items in a local store, the man behind me laid his purchases on the counter. Among them was a large, flowery birthday card with "To my wonderful wife" printed on the front. The clerk said, "You've chosen our biggest and prettiest card."

The man nodded sadly and replied, "One day late."
