Why we celebrate Sankranthi!

I love the way we interpret the festivals in India.

Sankranthi falls today and it is a festival of harvest, new beginnings, and new ideas. Alicia looks at it in a different way.

Wish you and your family a very happy pongal.

15 cynical minimalistic illustrations that reflect our times

Eduardo Salles is a brilliant designer born in Mexico City in 1987. He is also an advertiser, designer, illustrator, writer and professor at the Miami Ad School. As advertiser he won numerous awards, including the prestigious Cannes Lion. He runs a website called Cinismo Ilustrado, where he regularly publish clever and hilarious illustrations garnished with a tip of cynicism.

Not only these pieces are utterly brilliant, they are also wonderfully designed with a nice minimalistic style.
The illustrations featured in this post are the ones that caught our attention the most, as they are related to the times in which we live. We bet you’ll recognize yourself in more than one of them.
Make sure to take a look at Eduardo’s website if you’d like to see more of his clever artworks.
If you enjoyed this post, don’t be selfish, share it with your friends via Facebook or Twitter. Sharing is caring.

Get things done

One more from Hugh...

One of the great joys of being a cartoonist is that once you’re work is signed, you can point to it and say, yeah, I did that.

And because cartoons are a relatively quick medium, you get to do it a lot.

So no rock star life for me. Just getting up in the morning, going to the studio, rolling up my sleeves, and getting to work, day in, day out.

Yeah, I did that.

Pain is fun

Everyone knows its bad. Let's not think about it and pray it doesn't hit me is the feeling now. The feeling is too scary for many people. It means you can't pay your EMI, rent, electricity bill, phone bill, tuition fees, school fees, eat out, or sometimes eat at all! Can't drive to office, no new dresses, no New Year, no parties and above all can't sleep properly. So what should you do about it?

Some of the best minds in the IT industries have found a way. Laugh it off. And this has been the theme for many mails that have been forwarded to their friends and colleagues. Hope this New Year actually becomes as happy as all those were.
